We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Hydro Tech Inc. as a key member of our Environmental Compliance department.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Assign and oversee projects related to work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention.
- Staff Supervision: Direct and motivate staff to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Operational Planning: Plan and organize daily operations to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Training and Development: Provide information, training, and coaching to employers, employees, and the general public on health and safety best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review and ensure adherence to HR directives and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Investigations and Inspections: Conduct workplace inspections and investigations to identify and mitigate safety and health hazards.
- Health and Safety Planning: Develop and implement health and safety plans to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise with senior management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a related field, with a strong background in occupational health and safety.
- Certifications: Association for Canadian Registered Safety Professionals Certification, First Aid Certificate, National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgment, organization, and teamwork skills.
