Key Responsibilities

  • Define and Communicate a Vision
    • Develop a comprehensive strategy for player safety, aligning with the project's past, present, and future needs.
    • Collaborate with the production team to plan and prioritize major milestones related to player safety.
    • Work with service partners to define investments and development for player safety services within the Ubisoft ecosystem.
    • Manage internal and public communication strategies around player safety.
  • Measure, Observe, and Understand
    • Drive programs and initiatives to measure, observe, and understand threats to player safety, in collaboration with relevant partners.
    • Participate in the definition of tracking standards and follow-up policies to enable comparisons among projects on player safety progress.
    • Develop monitoring tools and dashboards with relevant data teams.
    • Research external partnerships to understand disruptive behaviors and their impact.
    • Report and communicate on exposure levels and progress made.
  • Define and Enforce Player Safety Accountability
    • Ensure player safety is a central consideration in every design and production process.
    • Define standards and best practices to guide designers and cell owners in their conception.
    • Establish an annual development plan with project security and safety teams.
    • Participate in director reviews to identify gaps and flags in player safety.
    • Work with production leaders to identify necessary process upgrades to incorporate player safety education and risk mitigation.
  • Support Product Strategy for Player Safety Services
    • Collaborate with transversal teams to expose production vision and needs in terms of product and services.
    • Work with stakeholders to shape new services and ensure they meet production needs regarding player safety.
    • Define collaboration mandates with service partners to bring onboard or create new transversal services.
    • Leverage best practices, benchmarks, and competitive intel to fuel and guide new product and services development.
  • Educate
    • Raise awareness among other services and partners about norms, best practices, references, and new trends/threats observed in the player safety field.

Qualifications

  • Senior management experience within the online gaming industry or another relevant digital industry.
  • First-hand experience dealing with online communities of users and managing user safety stakes.
  • Deep understanding of technology, UX, software development, and business stakes related to digital spaces and/or online video games industry.
  • Analytical mindset at ease with data-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of online gaming culture.
  • Strategic achiever who will drive momentum while building alignment in a complex environment.
  • Passion for online video games is a plus.
