About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Tourism Supervisor at the City of Cornwall. As a key member of our Economic Development team, you will play a vital role in promoting Cornwall as a premier visitor destination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tourism initiatives and programs to promote Cornwall's unique attractions and experiences.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, businesses, and tourism partners to foster strong relationships and drive marketing efforts.
  • Provide exceptional visitor information services, including guidance on events, attractions, and experiences to explore in Cornwall.
  • Develop and manage the annual tourism budget and seasonal visitor information centre.
  • Represent the City of Cornwall at trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote tourism and economic development.
  • Support local festivals and events, conferences, and major sporting events as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a business or government environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Verbal communication skills in both English and French are an asset.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing and photography skills, along with experience in website and social media marketing.
  • Experience with proposal development, application writing, and delivering presentations.
  • Possess and maintain a Class G driver's license.
  • Experience with finances and budgeting, as well as administrative tasks.
  • Proven analytical skills, organizational skills, and a strong customer service focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, and various types of software used in marketing applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
