About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as Executive Vice-President, College or University at St. Francis Xavier University. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our institution and driving excellence in academic and administrative programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Governance
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the university, ensuring alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
    • Collaborate with the President and other senior leaders to develop and implement institutional policies and plans.
    • Represent the university in various external forums and partnerships, promoting our reputation and interests.
  • Academic and Research Excellence
    • Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs, ensuring they meet the needs of students, employers, and the broader community.
    • Support the growth of research and innovation, fostering partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure the quality and integrity of academic programs, including curriculum development and assessment.
  • Operational Effectiveness
    • Provide strategic direction and oversight for university operations, including finance, human resources, and facilities management.
    • Ensure the effective management of university resources, including budgeting, planning, and risk management.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships
    • Foster strong relationships with external partners, including government, industry, and community organizations.
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote the university's reputation and interests, both locally and globally.
    • Support the development of partnerships and collaborations that advance the university's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in higher education.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strategic leadership and vision.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with budgeting, planning, and risk management.
