About the Role:

Sipkens Nurseries seeks a skilled Greenhouse Horticultural Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our greenhouse production team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized greenhouse environment, ensuring the health and quality of our plants, and assisting with various cultivation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized greenhouse environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces.
  • Monitor and control temperature, humidity, and light levels to ensure optimal growing conditions.
  • Assist with planting, pruning, and harvesting of plants, as well as the maintenance of soil quality.
  • Perform weeding, potting, and repotting tasks as required.
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to ensure maximum growth and productivity.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

Requirements:

  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant experience and training are essential.
  • Fluency in English is necessary, and the ability to work in a team environment is crucial.
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work long hours in a physically demanding environment.
  • Availability for the advertised start date, with the ability to commit to a seasonal contract.
