Greenhouse Horticulturist

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Horticulturist to join our team at Sipkens Nurseries. As a key member of our floriculture production team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy greenhouse environment, ensuring the quality of our plants, and contributing to the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and organized greenhouse environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces.
- Monitor and control temperature, humidity, and light levels to optimize plant growth.
- Water and fertilize plants as needed, and prune or repot as required.
- Identify and address any pest or disease issues, and implement integrated pest management strategies.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in horticulture or a related field an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience in greenhouse production or a related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
