We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at goeasy. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Employee Consultation and Support: Provide high-quality consultation to management on strategies and approaches to manage complex employee issues, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment.
- Investigations and Documentation: Conduct employee investigations independently or in liaison with internal teams, professionally documenting findings and recommendations for review by Senior Leadership.
- Performance Management: Oversee and support management team with performance management activity, including performance issues, progressive discipline, and corrective action.
- HR Initiatives and Projects: Support the execution of ongoing HR initiatives, such as the annual performance review process and employee engagement events.
- Employee Leave and Accommodation: Manage employee leave of absences, return to work plans, and accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with provincial employment laws.
- Health and Safety: Coordinate with management team on Health & Safety matters, including workplace injury situations.
- Policies and Compliance: Assist employees and management with the interpretation of Company policies and ensure compliance with provincial employment laws.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to management to enhance their people management capability.
- Education: University/college degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years' Employee Relations or HR Generalist experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of provincial Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights, Health and Safety legislation, and other applicable employment law. Broad experience in policy and legislation interpretation, customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment, and sensitivity in dealing with employee situations. Strong time management and organizational skills and attention to detail to manage work, competing deadlines, and sensitive projects.
