Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Technologist to join our team at HF Sinclair Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our fixed pressure equipment and piping systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement asset integrity strategies to minimize risk and optimize equipment performance
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with industry and company standards
  • Manage and coordinate non-destructive testing programs and core inspection programs
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to address daily issues related to static equipment or piping
  • Participate in failure analysis, root cause analysis, and materials selection processes
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to team members
  • Develop and implement inspection plans for various types of static equipment
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of inspection experience in a related role
  • Experience in a Petrochemical/Refinery is preferred
  • A technical graduate of a materials related discipline (Materials or Welding technology)
  • Certified API 510/570 certification is preferred
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledgeable on the application of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Asset Integrity Strategies
  • Working knowledge of API 653 as well as 579, 580, 581
  • Knowledge of root cause failure analysis, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, welding processes and basic metallurgy
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic SAP proficiency
Work Environment

This is an on-site role located at the Lubricants Facility at 385 Southdown Road, Mississauga. This is a safety-sensitive position.
