Job Title: Director of Medical Affairs and Education
About the Role:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for medical governance, education, and patient care initiatives.
  • Develop and implement effective planning, processes, and governance for credentialed professional staff and learners.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure compliance with hospital bylaws, legislation, and regulations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Osler's educational mandate.
  • Maintain high work quality standards and ensure seamless integration and coordination of educational activities across Osler.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and vision for medical governance and education initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of policies, procedures, and governance processes.
  • Compliance with hospital bylaws, legislation, and regulations.
  • Operational oversight and leadership for medical affairs and education.
  • Credentialing, privileging, and governance processes.
  • Educational and operational materials development and presentation.
  • Guidance and oversight for chiefs and physician leaders.
  • Operational management, including workflow optimization and team management.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health administration, MBA, and/or education.
  • Proven leadership experience with five to seven years in healthcare or academic settings.
  • Experience leading teams through growth or change.
  • Practical experience in change management and process enhancements.
  • Strong ability to identify areas for improvement and drive process enhancements.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Skilled in delivering feedback and promoting collaboration.
  • Thorough understanding of professional standards and regulatory colleges.
  • Expertise in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Strong change leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with strategic planning, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build organizational capacity and ensure succession planning.
  • Experience in resolving physician complaints and implementing collaborative solutions.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and oversight in process and policy development.
  • Proven capability in managing compliance with hospital bylaws, legislation, and regulations.
  • Skilled in collaborating with educational institutions and building partnerships.
  • Extensive knowledge of university policies and regulations.
  • Experience with oversight of credentialing, privileging, and governance processes.
  • Ability to develop and present educational and operational materials.
  • Capable of guiding chiefs and physician leaders.
