Job Summary:

Lafarge Construction is seeking a skilled Paver Operator to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a Paver Operator, you will be responsible for operating a paver to lay asphalt on construction sites. This is a seasonal, full-time position that requires a valid Class 5 driver's license and at least 5 years of experience operating a screed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a paver to lay asphalt on construction sites
  • Perform routine maintenance on the paver, including washing and cleaning
  • Monitor and ensure quality of asphalt
  • Assist with a variety of job operations within a paving team
  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist
  • Monitor material production within specifications
  • Ensure consistent feeding of paver to maintain a quality product
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork
  • Seek out and implement Best Practices

Safety & Environment:

  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided
  • All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • At least 5 years of experience operating a screed
  • Knowledge of City of Edmonton specifications
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area
  • Ability to read survey markings
