Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their maximum potential and independence.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing evidence-informed services to meet their unique needs. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver client-centered services, using your strong assessment and organizational skills to identify client needs and develop effective care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients in their homes, including assessment, treatment, and education
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans
  • Use strong assessment and organizational skills to identify client needs and develop effective care plans
  • Work independently in clients' homes, which may include congregate settings, single-family dwellings, condos, and/or walk-up apartments
  • Travel to other home care network offices as required
Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP) certification
  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation and regulatory bodies
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional clinical care within a continually changing healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively and effectively with healthcare team members, clients, and their families
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Continuing Care experience
  • Palliative care experience
  • AADL authorizer
  • Experience with Meditech, Connect Care, and the RAI HC assessment tool
