Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Parkland School Division. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and therapeutic needs of our students.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs. This will include administering and interpreting standardized assessments, identifying areas of difficulty, and developing and implementing intervention strategies to support student progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, speech language pathologists, educational psychologists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized plans for students.
  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments to identify areas of difficulty and develop targeted intervention strategies.
  • Develop and implement play-based programs to support student development of fine motor, visual motor, perceptual, and sensory integration skills.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is mandatory.
  • Experience working with students with complex needs and diverse abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
Working Conditions

The Occupational Therapist will work indoors, with occasional outdoor supervision and field trips. The scheduled hours will be determined by the specific position, and the use of a personal vehicle may be required.
