Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Barr Engineering Co. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, leading projects through their entire lifecycle, and providing technical direction and guidance to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and develop business development strategies
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to project teams, including multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the company's presence in the market
  • Assist with client contract development and negotiations, and coach and mentor technical staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical, or mining engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project engineering and design, with a strong background in business development
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification in Saskatchewan or ability to obtain certification within one year
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a project team environment and lead multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in western Canada
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced degree in civil, geotechnical, or mining engineering or a closely related degree
  • Experience working in consulting engineering and operating/managing for a consulting engineering company
