Job Summary:

The Greenhouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our greenhouses, ensuring the highest quality of produce and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to ensure efficient and effective greenhouse operations.
  • Organize and implement planting schedules, ensuring optimal growing conditions and crop yields.
  • Resolve work problems by providing technical advice and guidance to staff, focusing on increasing productivity and product quality.
  • Schedule events, programs, and activities to promote employee engagement and teamwork.
  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance, including lawn care, pruning, and other horticultural tasks.
  • Plan and estimate labor and materials for projects, ensuring budgetary constraints are met.
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Tender and administer contracts for equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in greenhouse operations or a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions:

The Greenhouse Supervisor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and concisely, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and sustainability.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Hours of Work:

32 hours per week.
