Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Shop Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our fleet in Georgetown, ON. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles, as well as providing leadership and guidance to our maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and communicate with dispatch and operations personnel.
  • Supervise shop staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Work closely with the location manager and region maintenance management to provide status updates and budget requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Review repair orders, order parts and fuel, and subcontract repair work as needed.
  • Initiate and implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Supervise bus fueling and arrange services for building and ground keeping.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with required endorsements.
  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and school bus equipment is preferred.
