Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Shop Manager to oversee all location maintenance operations and provide shop staff oversight at our Georgetown, ON location.
Main Responsibilities:
- Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, troubleshoot equipment problems, and communicate vehicle availability with dispatch and operations personnel.
- Supervise shop staff, including hiring, training, and performance reviews, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the location manager and region maintenance management to provide maintenance status and budget requirements, and review financial and budget variances.
- Ensure a safe working environment and maintain compliance with State, Federal, and Company requirements.
- Review repair orders, order fuel and parts, and subcontract repair work as needed.
- Initiate and implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Supervise bus fueling and arrange services for building and ground keeping.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical training preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience, with a valid driver's license and required endorsements.
- Good written and oral communication skills, computer skills, and industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and school bus equipment.
