Maintenance Manager Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the smooth operation of our hotel's exterior and interior facilities, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Your proactive approach will involve hands-on maintenance, inspections, and repairs to electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, and structural systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily departmental activities, communicate policies, train staff, and oversee building maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Dispatch and direct associates for building maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC/plumbing/electrical issues, and oversee hotel physical operations.
  • Establish and maintain procedures to ensure security of inventory and assets, replenish supplies efficiently, and minimize waste.
  • Manage inventory security, respond to guest inquiries, monitor budgets, and interact with guests, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate, distribute, and review daily service and weekly preventive maintenance work orders and maintenance record logs, time sheets, labor, and material charges.
  • Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by Management/General Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Building Environmental Systems Class I&II or equivalent certification.
  • Three years of building maintenance experience required; hotel environment preferred.
  • Minimum three years of combined mechanical, electrical, and life safety experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience using computerized word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual and computerized financial and accounting operations and systems.
  • Must have a high degree of organization and the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to deal tactfully with hotel clients & staff.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical data.
  • W.H.M.I.S. Training Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Work Environment:

This role requires frequent standing, moving, and handling objects, as well as remaining stationary for extended periods. You will be required to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl to maintain the facility.
