Job Opportunity

The Salvation Army British Columbia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Grace Mansion. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping residents achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor residents during assigned shifts, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and provide support within the framework of our centre's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain contact with local government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities and resources.
  • Participate in emergency response situations, such as fire alarms or other crises.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (an asset).
  • Training or certification in addictions and/or mental health issues (or willingness to be trained).
  • Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 (or willingness to be trained).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a residential setting, with potential exposure to hazardous or disagreeable conditions. Successful candidates must obtain clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program and The Salvation Army Child Abuse Registry.

We offer a casual, on-call schedule with various shift times, including overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
