Job Title: Mechatronics Engineer

At CATSearch HR Consultancy Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge automation technologies for our self-driving labs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new automation technologies, including prototype development and improvement.
  • Enhance the reliability and flexibility of hardware/software modules, including automated chemical synthesis and analysis systems.
  • Collaborate with chemists and engineers to integrate automation into workflows.
  • Develop and test experimental protocols for new technologies.
  • Integrate automation systems with existing lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade automation platforms, including robotic and analytical systems.
  • Create research presentations with clear data visualizations.
  • Work with computer science teams on data and visualization.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals and manuscripts.
  • Follow safety protocols, including chemical handling and environmental management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in automation design and implementation, preferably in a lab setting.
  • Proficient in Python, API integration, and code debugging.
  • Skilled with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
  • Strong electronics and lab equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiar with UPLC/HPLC instruments and chromatography data systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment:

This is a non-remote position.
