Aircraft Sheetmetal Fabrication Specialist Job Description

GAL AeroStaff Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Sheetmetal Fabrication Specialist to join our team in Ontario, Canada.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, rivet, drill, and bond aircraft body, structure, or components according to specifications.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine method of fabrication, procedures, and sequence of operations.
  • Cure bonded structures using portable or stationary curing equipment.
  • Communicate with other workers to fit and align heavy parts or expedite processing of repair parts.
  • Clean, strip, prime, and sand structural surfaces and materials prior to bonding.
  • Fabricate parts using metal fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.
  • Assemble and fit aircraft and structural parts.
  • Perform subassemblies.
  • Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English Language at a B2 level minimum.
  • Must be able to work overtime, any shift, and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background, drug, and medical screening, subject to TCCA requirements and random substance abuse screening.
  • Must have requisite basic tools prior to starting to work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved.
  • Must have a technical college degree in aerospace or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in an MRO.
