Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bodily Injury Claims Specialist to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our Protect Claims department, you will be responsible for handling Bodily Injury claims, including litigated and non-litigated files, and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate Bodily Injury claims to determine liability and damages
- Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with Aviva's procedures and philosophy
- Develop and implement strategies to direct handle files to conclusion
- Work with defence counsel to develop and implement strategies for bringing litigated files to a timely and cost-effective resolution
- Provide excellent customer and partner communication on claim matters
- Clearly document and summarize file activity
- Understand and adhere to Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
Requirements
- 3-10 years' experience handling Bodily Injury claims, including general liability/premises operations claims and auto tort liability
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of third-party liability claims (Bodily Injury, Property, and Auto Physical Damage litigation)
- Mediation, Pre-Trial, and Trial experience
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Superior organizational skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Adaptability, flexibility, willingness to learn, and integrity
- Committed team player with a positive outlook
- Post-Secondary education in a related field
- CIP designation would be an asset
