About the Role:
The City of Coquitlam is seeking a highly skilled and experienced paralegal to join our team of real estate and property development legal professionals. As a paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting the acquisition and development of land for municipal and other purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and processing various legal documents, including conveyancing documents, applications to deposit plan, road cancellation applications, municipal land title notices, statutory rights of way, covenants, options to purchase, and housing agreements.
- Conducting land title and other due diligence searches.
- Liaising with internal and external contacts related to land acquisition and development projects.
- Undertaking special projects and assignments as required.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a real estate paralegal working on commercial land acquisitions and complex land development projects.
- Familiarity with municipal development application processes.
- In-depth knowledge of the Land Title Act and Land Title Survey Authority practices.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multi-task.
- Strong working relationships and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Diploma or certificate in an accredited paralegal program.
