About the Role:

The City of Coquitlam is seeking a highly skilled and experienced paralegal to join our team of real estate and property development legal professionals. As a paralegal in this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing various legal documents required for municipal and other land acquisitions and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and processing conveyancing documents, applications to deposit plan, road cancellation applications, municipal land title notices, statutory rights of way, covenants, options to purchase, and housing agreements.
  • Conducting land title and other due diligence searches.
  • Liaising with internal and external contacts related to the foregoing work.
  • Undertaking special projects and assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a real estate paralegal working on commercial land acquisitions and complex land development projects.
  • Familiarity with municipal development application processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Land Title Act and Land Title Survey Authority practices.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, working collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Diploma or certificate in an accredited paralegal program.
