Job Summary

The Orderly will provide care and assistance to residents of autonomous and semi-autonomous seniors' homes, as well as accompany them in their daily activities and contribute to their well-being. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and/or supervising, assisting residents with their hygiene and comfort needs, ensuring a presence with them to contribute to their recovery or to help them maintain their state of health, while promoting their autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents according to their needs, including feeding, hygiene care, installation, mobilization, disposal, and dressing, while respecting their rhythm and stimulating their autonomy
  • Maintenance and cleaning of rooms and common areas when required in the care unit and according to the needs expressed by your superior
  • Respond promptly and benevolently to call bells and resident requests
  • Provide comfort and well-being care to residents within the limits of their competence
  • Propose and organize recreational activities for residents
  • Dispense or administer medications as directed and ensure that residents take them
  • Communicate to the care team any observations that may indicate a change in the resident's health status
  • Perform rounds of monitoring
  • Follow work and care plans
  • In the event of an emergency, administer first aid
  • Perform all other related duties

Requirements

  • DEP in Healthcare Facility Assistance or DEP in Home Care or APRPA
  • For diplomas obtained outside the country, confirmation of equivalence is required
  • Current CPR
  • PDSB
  • Competency 7 Act 90 (an asset)
  • Good proficiency in French
