About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Specialist to join our team in chronic disease management. Reporting to the Manager, and under the direction of the Provincial Program Coordinator and Medical Director of the INSPIRED COPD Outreach Program, you will provide respiratory education to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

You will apply your knowledge, skills, and judgment in the provision of diagnostic, assessment, and therapeutic modalities to assist in the management of respiratory disorders in collaboration with healthcare professionals and community providers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory education to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Apply knowledge, skills, and judgment in diagnostic, assessment, and therapeutic modalities for respiratory disorder management
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community providers
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and currently licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists required
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams required
  • Current certification in BCLS is required
  • A minimum of two years' experience in Respiratory Therapy is required
  • Clinical experience in the relevant practice area preferred (ie. Respiratory clinic, community-based care, chronic disease management, patient educator)
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under patient caseload time limitations required
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; must be an effective team player
  • Competencies in other languages would be an asset
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, videoconferencing) and experience with virtual care an asset

$32.43 - $40.66 Hourly
