About the Opportunity

The Medical Imaging Specialist plays a vital role in our Diagnostic Imaging department, responsible for operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. This role involves performing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, and continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment.
  • Exercise independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in performing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Apply the ALARA principle in using ionizing radiation.
  • Foster a culture of safety in the workplace through effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Radiological Technology.
  • CAMRT certification and NSCMIRTP licensure.
  • Previous experience in medical imaging is an asset.
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
