This role involves coordinating medical travel requests, tracking patient movements, and delivering emergency services to residents of the NWT and clients from Old Crow, Yukon. You will interpret benefit entitlements according to the Government of the Northwest Territories' Medical Travel Policy and related policies.

Your decisions and recommendations will impact patients, escorts, health professionals, and various other parties daily.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge: NWT Health & Social Services system, Canada Health Act, NWT geography and cultures, transportation industry, particularly northern air travel, medical terminology, and air transportation terminology.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in the travel or healthcare industry with direct experience dealing with the public.
  • Skills: Patience, tact, sound judgment, good written and verbal communication skills, excellent telephone communication skills, interpersonal skills, organization and time management skills, decision-making abilities, and sound computer skills.
