About the Role

This challenging and rewarding position is located in the Inuvik Regional Hospital, a 51-bed accredited facility serving the town of Inuvik and 12 outlying communities. As an Audiologist with the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority, you will play a vital role in providing diagnostic, intervention, preventative, educational, counseling, and referral services to in- and out-patients suffering from hearing difficulties.

Responsibilities
  • Independently provide comprehensive audiological services to patients of all ages, including assessment, treatment, and prevention of hearing-related issues.
  • Develop and implement effective programs to address the unique cultural, social, and regional needs of the community.
  • Travel to outlying communities via ice road and small aircraft, with a valid NWT Driver's license being considered an asset.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that patients' physical, emotional, psychosocial, educational, and day-to-day living needs are met.
  • Educate patients, their families (where applicable), and other healthcare professionals on self-care methods and techniques.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Audiology or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Maintenance of certification as a member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada is essential.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including pension, health insurance, and paid vacation time, is also provided.
