Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on our Work Equipment group, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic machinery/equipment. The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman's certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician or a registered and active 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in Heavy-Duty Mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Work Equipment
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify equipment problems
- Repair or replace parts as needed, working in remote locations outdoors
- Investigate and resolve equipment issues, minimizing impact on crew production
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate work
- Prepare and submit maintenance records and time sheets
- Obtain certification in CPKC safety rules
- Journeyman's certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician or a registered and active 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in Heavy-Duty Mechanics
- Ability to monitor gauges, instruments, and processes
- Problem-solving skills with judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

As a CPKC employee, you will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including a physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug audit assessment. You will also be required to pass a drug test during the training process before receiving final qualification for the position.
