Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Integration and Test Engineer at Telesat, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of system verification and validation plans for the Telesat LEO constellation communication system. You will participate in various testing activities across the Telesat Lightspeed system with vendors and other partners, and be responsible for maintaining lab setups and supporting field activities when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain system verification and validation plans for the Telesat LEO constellation communication system
  • Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting
  • Serve as a SATCOM SME and support other technical staff as required
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test beds, and required documentation for various test cases
  • Hands-on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path and routing features
  • Work with other segments, such as DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite, and foster a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Play an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities
  • Configure test equipment, such as Satellite Link Emulators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and traffic generators
  • Ensure that the product under test meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements
  • Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns
Requirements:
  • B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering, and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in satellite communications
  • Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards, such as DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, IP, and routing protocols
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation, and coding, and its impact on the satellite link performance
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools, such as Jira, Jama
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with various traffic generators, such as Ixia, Spirent
  • Highly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammates
  • Proficient with MATLAB, Python, or C++
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Automation experience with programming languages, such as Python
