Job Title: Senior Integration Test Engineer

Telesat is a leading global satellite operator, providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers for over 50 years.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Integration Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining system verification and validation plans for our Telesat LEO constellation communication system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Serve as a SATCOM SME and support other technical staff as required.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test beds required for various test cases.
  • Hands-on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path and routing features.
  • Work with other segments like DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite, and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Play an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities.
  • Configure test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and traffic generators.
  • Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.
  • Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns.
Requirements
  • Sc. in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in satellite communications.
  • Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards like DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, IP, and Routing Protocols.
  • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation, and coding and its impact on the satellite link performance.
  • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Proficient with MATLAB, Python, or C++.
  • Automation experience with programming languages like Python.
