Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients, adhering to professional standards and the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct respiratory assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Provide education and training to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists (MARRT) is required.
  • Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent is required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
