About the Role

Ciena Canada, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analog Circuit Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-speed analog circuits for our Wavelogic family of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect circuit solutions and perform feasibility studies to recommend the best solution for implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system groups, to guide the formation of circuit requirement specifications.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of system tradeoffs and details to meet market or customer objectives.
  • Report on status updates, participate in team meetings, and share experiences with the team.
  • Close interactions with allied teams in optical design, packaging design, DSP, and system design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial experience as a high-speed analog circuit architect.
  • Proficiency in design tools from Cadence, Mentor, and Synopsys for analog design.
  • Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills.
  • A history of successful analog circuit product deliveries based on architectures delivered.
  • Ability to methodically address sophisticated technical problems with solutions that balance tradeoffs across many domains.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with team leadership within an analog macro design group.
  • Experience formulating solutions considering business and economic factors.
  • Experience sizing risk and design effort estimates for new architectures.
  • Architect or System Design experience for complex analog macro-IP solutions using tools like MATLAB and/or C++.
