About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science & Analytics team in Twilio's Segment GTM. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will use data to help Twilio Segment hone our understanding of Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and help stay on top of emerging business trends.
You will own financial source of truth tables, performing analytics engineering to build & improve on the existing data model. You will implement dashboards & data science models using Python, Tableau, Looker, and open source libraries. You will develop and maintain models and deliver data-driven insights, analyzing pipeline health and business drivers, and developing strategies and solutions to drive results for GTM.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate insights and recommendations through exploratory analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling.
- Drive cross-functional analytics projects from beginning to end: build relationships with partner teams, collect and analyze data, and present key insights and recommendations to drive business improvements.
- Perform in-depth analyses to understand the quality of our prospects and opportunities, refine customer personas, increase return on ad spend, and support upsell motions.
- Design, build and maintain data models that the finance & marketing teams can use for reporting and deriving insights.
Requirements
- 7+ years of work experience, with experience at B2B SaaS companies.
- MS/PhD in a quantitative or technical field.
- Expert level SQL skills and dashboarding skills in tools like Looker or Tableau.
- Strong grasp of statistical modeling and tools such as Python, DBT, Github, Snowflake, and Segment.
- Comfortable diving into large, complex datasets and data systems.
- Experience with Salesforce, Alteryx.
- Prior experience with marketing data models.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives.
- Prior experience with large language models or generative AI.
