Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Children's Hospital is a dynamic and supportive workplace where team members provide exceptional care to children and their families in inpatient units and ambulatory clinics. As a key member of the Neuropsychology team, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, intervention, and consultation to children and their families who are experiencing complex developmental, medical, and behavioral challenges associated with neurological and medical diagnoses.

Description:

As a Neuropsychologist, you will provide advanced clinical services, including neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention, as well as consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families. You will work collaboratively with teams to provide and inform services for patients with multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental, and instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence-based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced clinical services, including neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
  • Consult and educate the interprofessional team and patients/families
  • Work collaboratively with teams to provide and inform services for patients with multi-dimensional needs
  • Consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure evidence-based practices
Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program, with successful completion of an appropriate CPA or APA accredited residency, and successful completion of a two-year post-doctoral fellowship program with a focus in Neuropsychology. Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship program in Neuropsychology with specific experience in Pediatric Neuropsychology. Demonstrated experience in cognitive and neuropsychological assessment, consultation skills, and therapeutic intervention within a medical setting. Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated clinical experience and research productivity within acquired brain injury, concussion, moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury, stroke, in a pediatric hospital setting. Qualified candidates with expertise and/or experience in equity, diversity, and inclusion work preferred. Linguistic diversity and proficiency in multiple languages considered an asset.
