Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for building a healthy, inclusive and vibrant community. We are seeking a Recreation and Culture Coordinator to coordinate recreation, arts, special needs, aquatics or sports programs to a variety of age groups in a recreational setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recreation, arts, special needs, aquatics or sports programs to a variety of age groups in a recreational setting.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote community engagement and social inclusion.
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver programs and services that meet the needs of diverse populations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for program participants.
  • Manage program budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of City resources.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 11
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; demonstrated programming experience in a recreational or applicable setting.
  • Educational background in Recreation or other related experience is an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of City of Ottawa policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated awareness of Safety/Security of programs.
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
