Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to coordinate recreation, arts, special needs, aquatics or sports programs for various age groups in a recreational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recreation, arts, special needs, aquatics or sports programs for various age groups in a recreational setting.
  • Develop and implement program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Supervise and train staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with City of Ottawa policies and procedures, as well as applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders to promote programs and services.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 11.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a recreational or applicable setting.
  • Demonstrated programming experience and knowledge of recreation and culture programs.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates.
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education in Recreation or a related field.
  • Computer competency.
  • Excellent public relations, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
