Job Summary:
IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Co-op to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As an HSE Co-op, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing training programs to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with plant staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration on health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Assist in overseeing contractors and activities to ensure compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations.
- Update and maintain records of training, audits, and inspections.
- Collaborate with the site HSE Specialist to ensure effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Strong interest in health and safety and/or environmental studies.
- Excellent organization and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of health, safety, and/or environmental legislation.Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Excellent working knowledge of tools like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, etc.What We Offer:
