**ROLE**:
The Corporate Quality Control Manager is responsible for: ensuring the Company QC systems and processes utilized on projects to maintain a consistent way of working across the business; providing support to the project QC Leads and assist in providing solutions to QA/QC issues on sites; managing the QA/QC performance monitoring and reporting requirements; and managing the QA/QC Leads, Inspectors and Administrators assigned to SMJV projects.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide corporate leadership, mentorship, and guidance to all project quality control personnel.
- Manage and maximize the use of project quality resources to effectively deliver projects on time.
- Support pre-planning process with the Project Management and the Construction Teams to ensure key deliverables are actioned in timely manner (i.e., project quality plan, quality procedures, inspection and test plans, forms, etc.).
- Develop training packages for roll out to project teams to ensure full understanding and requirements of the Quality Control governance documents (i.e., Quality Management Plans, Material Management Plans, Inspection and Test Plans).
- Ongoing monitoring and analysis of results of quality field inspections, weld and coating repair rates, and responses to client compliance issues.
- Proactively identify mitigation and corrective measures to quality control compliance issues, repair rates and any resulting trends. Supports the project QC Leads in addressing Non-conformance (NCRs) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPAs), and rework.
- Undertake monitoring and cost analysis of quality related defects.
- Assist with the development of Weld Procedure Specifications (pWPS and WPS) and other technical certifications e.g. ASBA as required.
- Maintain - and provide access on request - to all information related to Weld Procedure Specifications, Welding Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR) completed by SMJV and its personnel.
- Assist in development and support of the quality related key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the development of records and standards and maintain accurate and detailed files as required; ensure that processes are conforming to quality standards and client specifications; identify and address gaps in QC inspection processes and documentation.
- Work with the Systems and Assurance Manager to:

- Develop and deliver a quality strategy suitable for the requirements of the department and Company.
- Escalate, communicate, track, monitor and trend nonconformances and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure requirements (legislative, standard, code, ISO, etc.) are met with the Quality Control governance documents and these are maintained as required.
- Lead and support the QC team to first class delivery of QC overseeing the adequate conservation of suitable and accurate records for the welding, coating, and other quality control requirements.
- Carries out periodically surveillance activities to sites, recommends, and implements best practice improvements for safety, quality, production, and performance; join and support the Systems & Assurance Manager during project and supplier audits (when required).
- Support and participate in the Requirements Management of Change process to maintain a QA/QC knowledge bank to suit the requirements of the Company e.g. up to date specifications and codes, library of weld procedures, etc.
- Work closely with the Systems & Assurance Manager to develop the QC surveillance schedule and undertake audits as required driven by the SMJV Corporate Assurance Plan.
- Liaising with the Systems & Assurance Manager to compile and communicate appropriate lessons learned and good practices to ensure continuous improvement across the business.
- Undertake site visits to promote leadership, engagement, and support for SMJV cultural initiatives.
- Manage the QC input requirements for RFPs, tenders, ISNetworld etc. to ensure relevant, up to date information provided and scores are consistently high.
- Represent SMJV quality with clients and industry associations.
- Supports SMJV estimating team in the preparation and submission of SMJV qualifications and proposals to Clients.
- Maintains an excellent line of communication with the corporate office and support functions to ensure objectives are being met.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Qualifications_
- CSA 178.2 Certification CWB Level II or industry equivalent is considered an asset.
- Quality related post-secondary training and/or education. Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil/Structural), or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program is considered an asset.
- Experience_
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a quality control related position in construction.
- Minimum of 3 years
