Job Title: Library Technician II

Job Summary:

The Parkland School Division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Library Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our library team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to students, staff, and the community. Your primary focus will be on maintaining a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, promoting literacy and a love of reading, and supporting the development of information literacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and the community
  • Maintain a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and a love of reading
  • Support the development of information literacy skills
  • Assist with the maintenance of the library collection and resources
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support curriculum development and implementation
  • Provide technical support for library software and equipment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Information and Library Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Working Conditions:

  • 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM
  • $23.40-$26.35/hour (Pay Group 3)
  • Use of personal vehicle may be required
