Psychiatrist - Vancouver Acute Home-Based Treatment

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team in Vancouver Acute Home-Based Treatment (AHBT) program. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, nursing, care coordinators, and a family physician or nurse practitioner to provide comprehensive care to clients with acute mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with community health and acute hospital services to address ongoing client needs and ensure a smooth transition from acute care to community health services.
- Engage with key stakeholders to achieve excellence in client and family-centered care, including psychiatric assessment, minor medical assessment, medication management, and behavioral management.
- Provide expertise on behavioral management to allied staff and contribute to quality improvement priorities identified by medical and operational leadership.
- Facilitate education and research in collaboration with academic partners and operational management.
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) eligibility.
- Appointment as medical staff of Vancouver Coastal Health.
- Experience in a community mental health setting, preferably working with marginalized populations.
- Experience in caring for and treating severe mental illness, addiction, concurrent disorders, and personality disorders.
- Completion of or willingness to complete the BCCSU Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program course.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an inter-professional healthcare team and commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
