As an Underground Mine Supervisor at Agnico Eagle, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mining department. Reporting to the Mine General Supervisor, you will be responsible for promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental policies.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with defined regulations and industry standards.
- Verify the health and safety of the mining team through regular audits and accurate reporting of accidents and incidents.
- Ensure mining employees receive proper training and accreditation for their roles and equipment.
- Promote environmental and sustainability policies, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislative requirements.
- Prepare shift lineups to maximize resources and achieve optimal performance.
- Enforce the utilization of work cards and supervision formulas during shifts.
- Lead the mining team in safety and production-related matters and record relevant information.
- Complete timesheets, shift logs, and reports accurately.
- Ensure smooth communication and interaction with technical and operations teams.
- High school diploma; post-secondary studies in a field related to mining are an asset.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a leadership position.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the mining industry.
- Hold or be eligible for Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act.
- Hold or be eligible for a valid first aid certificate.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A 14-day work schedule, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest.
- Accommodations and meals provided on site at no cost to the employee.
- Charter flights to and from the mine site and reimbursement for traveling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
