Key Role in Mine Planning
As a Long Range Planner at Agnico Eagle, you will play a critical role in the transition of mining projects from exploration to engineering and economical evaluations. You will be responsible for providing competent and professional long-term mine planning, ensuring that goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement the life of mine (LOM), budget, and necessary economic analysis for mine operation and underground infrastructures, for both Underground and Open pits.
- Perform semi-annual mining reserves and resource estimation (MRMR): Mine stope optimizer (MSO) set up, Datamine block model encoding, variance and sensitivity analysis.
- Actively participate in the expansion projects' studies and permitting.
- Develop, prepare, and design the Strategic LT Mining Plan and assess opportunities throughout the different planning exercises, such as ELOM & FPM, and various economic analysis and tradeoffs.
- Receive and analyze new mine design guidelines (block model, economical parameters).
- Develop tools, procedures, and systems to ensure robust long-range planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining engineering or a Mining technology diploma.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Underground and Open Pit mining operations, that includes a minimum of 2+ years experience in production and mine planning.
- Excellent knowledge of CAD software, with working knowledge of Deswik being an asset.
- Experience in reserves and resource estimation would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
