Cambrian College is seeking an experienced educator to join its faculty as a Professor, Manufacturing Engineering Technician. This is a full-time tenured position based at the Belleville campus.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals in the manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship, the incumbent will facilitate the delivery of a range of courses in the Manufacturing Engineering Technician program onsite at the Belleville campus.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a variety of instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles, promoting a collaborative learning environment informed by evidence-based practice and best practices guidelines.
  2. Create and assess course learning outcomes and evaluation strategies, ensuring alignment with program goals.
  3. Design engaging lessons incorporating hands-on, multi-sensory learning activities.
  4. Evaluate and validate learning outcomes for courses and programs, keeping students informed about relevant learning objectives, strategies, and assessment methods.
  5. Pursue ongoing research, dissemination, and funding opportunities to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning, enhancing the body of knowledge in the profession.
  6. Support student progress in assigned courses through individual tutorial and academic counseling.
  7. Engage in professional development opportunities, collaborating with colleagues and partners to maintain a relevant and collaborative learning environment.
  8. Contribute to program development by participating in Provincial Program Review and National Accreditation processes, maintaining program accountability portfolios.
  9. Assist in program awareness and recruitment activities.
  10. Coordinate student field placements as assigned.
  11. Effectively integrate technological tools to support the learning environment.
Requirements:
  1. A relevant combination of education and experience typically acquired through Industrial (433A) or Construction Millwrights (426A) apprenticeship training, with 5 years' recent, relevant, and progressive industry experience. A Mechanical Engineering degree, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technician/Technology may be considered depending on Industry Experience.
  2. CWB certifications would be an asset.
  3. 5 years of recent and relevant post-secondary teaching experience would be an asset.
  4. Knowledge of current programming within the School of Applied Science, Skills and Technology as well as potential programs based on industry demand, community engagement, and global market forecasts.
  5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across various program disciplines.
  6. An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  7. A demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative and engaging learning activities.
  8. A demonstrated understanding of the principles of adult learning along with experience teaching adult learners and developing curriculum that conveys the current knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are aligned with best practices in the field.
  9. A demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative environment as evidenced through a strong network of contacts with other professionals, agencies, and employers.
  10. Computer literacy and a willingness to learn and utilize learning tools employed at the college to enhance student success.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
