Your Opportunity

Our Southwestern Ontario office is seeking a Senior Manager/Director, Operations Improvement Consulting to join the Operations Consulting team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality consulting services in strategy formulation, business planning, economic development strategies, business architecture, process improvement, change enablement, program/project management, and communication/engagement strategy development.
  • Assisting with the development of recommendations and presentations for client engagements.
  • Planning, managing, and executing work in conjunction with various engagements.
  • Communicating findings to client personnel and developing effective solutions.
  • Providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Working closely with senior consultants and collaborating to execute deliverables.
  • Maintaining a proactive and logical approach to information gathering, combining complex ideas, and presenting information clearly and effectively.
  • Supporting the growth of BDO's Strategy and Operations Practice in the GTA within targeted industries (Energy & Natural Resources, Financial Services, Public Sector, Manufacturing & Distribution, Not-For-Profit, and Real Estate) and developing industry sector plans.

Your Experience and Education

Requirements include:

  • Completed a post-secondary degree program (Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering would be considered an asset).
  • 10-15 years of direct experience with Operational Improvement.
  • Experience working with mid-market clients, specifically in the manufacturing space.
  • Proven analytical skills and systematic problem-solving.
  • Developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience in anticipating and diagnosing problems, building and documenting solutions, drafting effective communications, and managing projects.
  • Comfortable working on site in manufacturing operations.
  • Deep knowledge of Operational Excellence approaches, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, theory of constraints, and general continuous improvement practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the consulting process, abilities to build client relationships, and sell professional products.
  • Familiar with and comfortable wearing PPE.
