People & Culture Manager - Canada Office

Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO), the People & Culture Manager will oversee a comprehensive range of impactful people and culture initiatives and services within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures.
  • Conduct workforce planning and manage HRIS systems.
  • Analyze HR metrics and conduct audits.
  • Implement culture initiatives, including employee recognition and volunteer processes.

This role requires a collaborative team player with a creative, client-focused mindset, capable of fostering a diverse and inclusive environment to achieve organizational objectives. The individual will regularly handle highly confidential employee and legal information.

HRIS Management:

Oversee systems management, including configuration, updates, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with payroll for system integration. Manage user access, permissions, and provide training and support to ensure effective navigation of the system. Maintain employee information, ensuring compliance with record retention policies.

Maintain a dashboard for reporting on HR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess various aspects of HR performance, including recruitment, retention, turnover, and absenteeism.

Conduct regular audits of HR data, analyze trends, and work with peers to enhance processes, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Service Awards & Life Events:

Participate in the social committee and manage service awards and life events.

Review, revise, and implement HR policies and procedures in response to internal and external needs as assigned.

Research, compile, and draft information for policies and procedures, as well as employment legislation topics.

Identify hiring ranges, draft interview questionnaires, conduct pre-screening activities, administer candidate assessments, participate in panel interviews, contribute to hiring decisions, and prepare job offers.

Manage disputes and investigations, including harassment claims, and oversee staff transitions, including promotions, separations, and terminations.

Collaborate with departments to develop and enhance professional development plans aligned with the People & Culture Learning and Development Program.

Advise departmental managers on interpreting and applying human resource policies, programs, and best practices.

Model positive communication and embody the values and behavioral practices of Children Believe.

Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred.
  • Membership in the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of generalist HR experience, including HRIS management, HR analytics, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
  • Experience in the non-profit and international development sectors is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with ADP's Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Skilled in project coordination and implementation with a collaborative approach.
  • Quality-oriented; proficiency in French or Spanish is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Vision, Mission, and Values of Children Believe.

Work Environment:
