Computer Network Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Liberty Tax Service. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
- Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
- Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users.
- Security Measures: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
- Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
- Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Network Setup: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
- Network Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
- Web-Server Backup and Recovery: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.
- Education: College/CEGEP degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in network administration and support.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of networking software, networking security, Internet, servers, and MS Office.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, initiative, judgement, and organized.
