Gwireless Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Computer Network Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software. You will be responsible for evaluating and installing new equipment, providing problem-solving services to network users, and performing routine network start up and close down and maintaining control records.

In addition, you will be responsible for performing data backups and disaster recovery operations, setting up local area networks and connections to the Internet, and implementing network traffic and security monitoring software. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Permanent employment
  • English as the primary language of work
  • 35 to 40 hours of work per week
