Private Client Solicitor

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Private Client Solicitor to join our expanding team in Bedford Row. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in the non-contentious Private Client area of law.
Our Private Client team is renowned for its expertise and broad experience across the sector. As a Private Client Solicitor, you will be responsible for advising on and drafting wills, estate and inheritance tax planning, and the administration of estates. You will also have the opportunity to work on cross-border advice, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax advice in relation to trusts and estates.
Main Duties:
- Conduct your own caseload under the supervision of a partner
- Business development, including networking, article writing, and cross-departmental relationship building
- Excellent financial management, including time recording and billing to meet annual targets
- Participation in firm-wide events and training
Client Relations:
- Provide a high-quality service to all Russell-Cooke clients
- Develop and maintain good client relationships, gaining clients' confidence and that of other professionals
- Receive requests for advice from current and potential clients and decide on the most appropriate responses
- Establish what needs to be done to solve a client's problems
Personal Development:
- Qualify into and maintain professional development in a professional body such as STEP
- Support internal procedures and systems, including file and financial management
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Read journals and attend courses as part of continuing professional development
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct while generating adequate practice income
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree level 2:1 and ideally commendation at LPC level
- Highly numerate, IT literate, with excellent working knowledge of Excel

- Evidence of interest in and commitment to the success of the firm
- Relevant experience within a professional services firm
- Understanding of and commitment to Russell-Cooke's values and ethos
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient, and timely manner
- Good interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings
- Excellent attention to detail and a positive professional attitude
- Ability to multitask and keep calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours as required
