About the Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Secondary School Phys-Ed Instructor to join our team at Huron Heights S.S. This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 3 LTO sections (1.0 FTE) of teaching with a specific focus on Phys-Ed (PAF3OY, PPL1OY, PPL2OY).

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Phys-Ed classes to secondary school students, focusing on developing their physical literacy, teamwork skills, and healthy lifestyle habits.

We welcome applicants who hold OCT qualifications in the assigned subject area, ensuring they meet the necessary eligibility requirements for this Long-term Occasional vacancy.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Phys-Ed classes to secondary school students, promoting physical activity and health education
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, adhering to board policies and procedures
Requirements

To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must:

  • Hold a valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in Phys-Ed
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning, with a focus on student-centered approaches
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians
